Thanksgiving Celebration!

This past Sunday, we had our annual Thanksgiving Celebration. Thanksgiving Celebration is one of those most-anticipated events throughout the year and …

We started the day with Sunday Worship Service where Pastor Ed turned to the positive elements of gratitude in a message entitled “In Praise of Gratitude.” The message was quite fitting because for the next couple of hours, we experienced people giving thanks to God with a lot of singing-and-dancing-and-rapping-and-doing-other-really-creative-and-slight-gross-acts-that-somehow-are-still-fun-and-amusing-to-watch.
Words don’t do these acts justice. Here are some pictures!

Frosh/Juniors dance!

Terry looks quite intense here.

Sophomores’ high energy dance. Look they are having a good time!

Reppin’ the three new church plants!

The seniors/staff dance with Mike showin’ us his moves… BLOCK!
Afterwards, we gathered at the Alameda high school cafeteria to eat delicious turkey, ham, and many other goods together. My table had the deep-fried turkey which was juicy and delish. Happy I was. Thankful I was!

Richard cutting open one of the deep fried turkeys.

Kairos enjoying a super early Thanksgiving meal together.
Later on, we shared about five things we’re thankful for using an acrostic style card that spelled out THANKS. The five things I said I was thankful for were (T)ransportation, (H)ouse-Dana , (A)nnie-my sister, (N)ew Freshmen, and (S)ue and Rick, our fearless leaders. (Why don’t people share what they put on that worksheet in the comments?! That’d be awesome possum.) That worksheet really tested my creativity but in the end I become a slightly more grateful person
Then we ended the night off with class pictures!

Frosh!

Soph!

Juniors!

Seniors!

The staff!
I hope you had fun! If you missed out, there’s always next year!
