With the momentum of Fall Welcome Night behind us, Kairos had our first Bible Study of the semester. We called it “Kairos Unplugged.”
So I asked myself, what exactly are we unplugging? Perhaps the massive lights we had for the Fall Welcome Night? Or the light-up discs we used to play Night Frisbee last week? I actually don’t know what we unplugged; but what I do know is what we plugged! (insert knee slap and “that was a bad pun” laugh here). But seriously, through insightful discussion James made a plug for the consideration that we as humans want to spend our time doing things that are worth it, that so much of what we engage in isn’t quite worth it, and invited us to check out what really is through the upcoming semester with Kairos. We plugged Thrive, a 6-week curriculum designed to help Christian students make the most of their college years. We plugged LIFEGroups, and I’ll let the video explain that… Finally, we plugged our San Francisco Pier 39 and Ghirardelli’s Ice Cream trip. (Hope I didn’t overload the circuit there!) Check out the pics after the jump!

some lively discussion... see the hands moving?

Ice Cream and some fun afterwards!

On Friday, we first met at Eshleman for a yummy dinner, and then piled into cars where 91 people crossed the bay to go to hit up Pier 39 and its clam chowder, crazy hats, and carousel, then went to Ghirardelli’s where we found The Earthquake and absolutely demolished it. It was a great time!

Seems to fit fine... See anything crazy?

Who says carousels are for kids?

The Earthquake is eight scoops of ice cream!??

Never mind, it was manageable :)

Hope you can join us next time!
