Last Friday-Saturday, some 50+ odd of us at Kairos escaped the dungeons of Berkeley to explore the frontiers of Sierra Lodge!

The Early Crew left at 1 pm and helped to prepare food while the rest of us were still struggling to find our way out from Berkeley:

When the rest arrived at about 9:30 pm, we played some ice-breaker games and topped it off with a King Kong Shower tournament!

After that, we star-gazed while lying down on the unlit basketball court! Some of us managed to catch a glimpse of a shooting star! (I did!) Lights went on after that, and then it was basketball time till 2 am:

We started the next day with breakfast as well as devotion time in groups.

Then, it was time for Lake Tahoe!

Basically, it was a fun time out at the beach! (kayaking, beach football, ultimate frisbee, sandcastle-building, good food, bonfire…)

We ended the night with a bonfire time at the Gazebo in Sierra Lodge. There, we had a delightful time of sharing what we were thankful for.

Many shared that they were very thankful for the loving community that Kairos is, calling it a “home away from home.”
