Friday Fun and Funnel Cake

Though the weather was chilly and gloomy when we left Underhill parking lot on Friday, Kairos was able to keep warm by kicking off Friday night with kickball and softball. (No pun intended!) We were also able to brush up on our softball skills by having time to practice batting and catching before the IM games began.

Going over the rules of Kickball
After battling out the opposing IM team and making fun of each other when necessary, all of us headed to Versailles for a delicious meal of sloppy joes! Many of us commented on how it made us feel like kids again since we haven’t eaten sloppy joes since elementary school.
Thanks for making it all possible, Chef Claire!
We continued our topical Bible study and discussed media consumption, recreation, and entertainment. The discussions were nice and lively as people had much to share regarding how the world views media consumption and entertainment. Some of the stories shared really illustrated how consuming entertainment can be. Each group then had one person share one main point about the topic. Then Ben gave the Bible study, giving us the Christian perspective on the topic.
After Bible study Nelson recruited a few helpers to help make funnel cake, which turned out delicious! Felt just like Six Flags… if not better since we were in the comfort of our own home! Kind of. We also played Speed Jenga in our IM teams, which was very exciting as we even had chess clocks to add to the pressure. Also, did anyone else notice the epic battle music in the background as we were playing? I thought it was a nice touch, though I must say I nearly suffered from a heart attack due to overexcitement and extreme focus on not knocking over the tower, which I still managed to do twice! Sorry, Team A! Well, it’s all in good fun anyways. Until next time, readers!

Focus, Kim!

Delicious! Thanks, Nelson!
