Spring Welcome Night: Making it Count!
Jan 23, 2012
It’s good to be back! For most students, it was the start of a new chapter of their college career, a different semester to invest time and resources in. It’s kind of similar for the seniors, except it’s the last chapter of this roller coaster ride called college… pretty exciting stuff! For everyone, it’s the start of a new year, the start of a new semester, and a great time for Spring Welcome Night! Despite the gloomy weather in Berkeley, it was lively as we celebrated the start of a new semester as Kairos. As usual, there was scrumptious food and merry conversations to start off the night.

Then, in the spirit of a new start, we started something we didn’t see last semester. Instead of just a talk by James, we went into an engaging discussion on the different ways we can use different words, starting with a few easy ones like “run” and “see”. Then we got to the final word: “count”. We explored this multi-faceted word, focusing on four aspects specifically – counting (numbering), “does it count?”, “count on me”, and “make it count”. James ended the discussion with an exhortation to “make it count” in this new chapter of our lives.
Afterwards, we made the short trek to Dana House and had a fun time of foosball, board games, and Italian soda. All in all, it was a really fun night! Hope to see you next week!
P.S. As usual, pictures are below

The games were pretty intense. Just look at it
