Recently my friends put together a complete guide to cooking that perfect Turkey. It’ll come in handy for our up-coming TC events this coming Sunday. Although I am totally confident in Ken and Carmen’s turkey cooking abilities. In any case, if you’re scrambling online to find good directions, I recommend this guide.

Join us after bible study for a great night of TC practice. There will be light shows, rapping, orchestra, and dancing, yes, dancing with the stars of Kairos 3.

You may be wondering what Thanksgiving Celebration is all about… Well, here’s a clip to keep you wondering.

If you guys liked New Student Welcome Night, then come join us for another night of good food, relevant insights, and good time. If you missed NSWN2008, then this is definitely a night you don’t want to miss.

When: Friday, Oct. 31. 6:30pm

Where: YWCA bldg, 2600 Bancroft Way (at Bowditch)

We are VERY excited that Richard will give us a presentation on “The Reliability of the Bible.” We will investigate some of the evidence regarding this topic. If you’ve ever had questions like:
- Are the stories in the Bible real?
- How can you trust the Bible?
Then this is a presentation you don’t want to miss! Bring your friends!

Afterwards, the guys will head over to the gym for some 3-3 basketball and the girls are invited to Alameda for a wonderful sleepover with events planned for the following day. Come join the fun!

Some of the boys of Kairos 3 took an outing to explore Monterey Bay, in particular the world-famous aquarium. Two words: breath-taking! Or is that one word?

Kairos 3 boys with a friendly sea otter. No, the one in the orange hat is Ken, not the otter.

It’s too bad I don’t know how to take pictures of fish too well because they were amazing. There were sharks 6-7 feet long, endless jelly fish floating down effortlessly, and very friendly sea otters as you can see from above.

I was pretty surprised at how modest the aquarium looked from the outside but you’ll be surprised to know that it is one of THE LARGEST aquariums in the world.  Some history: It looks very modest from the outside because it was formerly a sardine cannery. Hence the street name, Cannery Row, where many former sardine canning factories were located. You may have read John Steinbeck’s novel Cannery Row.Yup this is it. Much of the outer exterior of many buildings on that strip of land was preserved, as if you’ve stepped into the 1940s. Ironically, because of the preservation, this area has become very expensive and a tourist attraction. Well, it attracted us and I had a great time!

Join us next time!

Are you getting used to the cold weather of the Bay Area yet? Join us for some Island Adventures! But dress warmly.

Destination 1: TREASURE ISLAND

Join us for the great island adventures!

Well… Treasure Island is really not that exciting, but it does have a SPECTACULAR view of San Francisco.

Finally, right when you think school is getting a little too stressful and need an outlet for some serious fun - action! An all-Kairos event - Maxwell Field Sports Night! Never been to one of our Sports Night before? Be prepared for alot of fun games involving frisbees, yoga balls as dodge balls, (you can even use them to peg Ken and Carmen) and the list goes on. Don’t miss this rare opportunity and invite your friends. Don’t forget your running shoes.

Well, everyone’s been asking me about what Austin, Texas was like. It’s flat, hot, humid, but a lot of fun! Yee-haw! Actually, people don’t say that there and they sure don’t wear boots either. One thing that I found very surprising was how there are a lot of green trees. More than you would think.

I along with about a dozen from Berkeley were in Austin, Texas 2 weeks ago visiting our sister church, Gracepoint Fellowship Church - Austin, and celebrating with them their Inaugural Service. It was a lot of fun, being with our friends and fellowshiping with Pastor Manny and his wife, Sunny. Much of the time was spent meeting the students at UT Austin and informing them about our new group, Koinonia. And when we were off campus, we were busy working on publications, cooking, cleaning, building shelves in garages and the like.

Many people came to the Inaugural service, including most of the directors from Gracepoint Fellowship Church - Berkeley, Waypoint Community Church, and Bridgeway Church of Silicon Valley. Many of these directors knew Pastor Manny and Sunny for 10-15 plus years, ever since their freshman year of college. Incredible! There was so much genuine love; and it was apparent to everyone there. Hopefully, that type of Christ-centered community of love can also be established there in Austin.

What an amazing trip! I’m still processing all that I experienced there. All I know is that if I get a chance to go again, I’m there - along with my sandals.

Hook ‘em Horns!

After bible study this past Friday, some of us decided to go have some fun with mini golf.

We had a great deal of friendly competition and none of us played really seriously. As seen here, Richard had some difficulty getting the ball through the obstacles so he resorted to some “creative” methods in order to finish the course:

We decided to POSTPONE the trip until more people can join. The more the merrier.
We look forward to a merrier time next time. STAY TUNED.

Where: Sierra Lodge

Here is a little preview from our summer trip pictures.

Memory Verse of the Week

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
