Thanks for all those that came out last Friday! We all had a blast playing and meeting all the other Kairos peeps. Here’s little taste of what happened that night…
*all pics can be found at our new Flickr site, too: click here
Riley, staring out into the field, itching to start playing.
Nice catch, Zack! Extra points for catching it with flair!
It’s a race to see who can get to the ball first in Braveheart! Riley looks to have the lead.
Zack and Christina team up to peg Carmen (Kairos 3) out. Can they do it? Run Carmen, run!
Ahh… looks like Christina has her. Better luck next time, Carmen!
I’m number one. No, you came in second. Hey guys, we’re all winners!
That’s right folks… I, Richard Yen, the official announcer of the night recognizes the winner of the first Maxwell Field Sports Night to be…
Everyone! Now gratuitous silly faces please…
Perfect. Just like how the night ended. Until next time… Go Bears… and Go Kairos!
Recap: Last Week’s Key Verse & Post Bible Study Games
Published October 15, 2008 Uncategorized 0 CommentsTags: alameda, bible study, games, key verse
Last week, we spent our devotions reflecting over Hebrews 11-12. Here was the key verse for the week.
Jenga-Jenga-Jenga! Our post-bible study fun was spent at Tim and Debbie’s house in quaint Alameda. We had an intense Jenga match between the guys and the gals, in which we ended up tied. I think if we played one more round, the guys totally would have had it in the bag. Check out the last pic, and you can see what us guys were up against.
Sorry Jully! I’m sure if your left arm was feeling better you would have totally had that piece!
Afterwards, we played many intense rounds of King Kong Shower and Ming Mang Mong. Contrary to what you think, Zach, you seemed like you were getting the hang of the games quite well by the end of the night!
Wax on, wax off! Ding, dang, dong!
Until next time…

A picture is worth a thousand words. How about 20 pictures, then? You do the math. Below is just a quick snapshot of the awesome half day hiking trip that Berkeley Kairos 4 took at Muir Woods. The weather was nice and cool, which actually worked to our advantage.
Enough talk… enjoy the pictures.
See you at our next nature excursion!
Fenton’s Challenge… Just Did It!
Published September 24, 2008 Uncategorized 3 CommentsTags: bible study, events, food, outings
This past Friday’s post bible study fun was to take the Fenton’s Challenge. Eat the ginormous 3 scoop-banana split ice cream in 20 minutes (even all the melted stuff has to be eaten), and you get a t-shirt! The waitress awaits our orders. Are we in or are we out?
Many have tried, and few have succeeded. The challengers? Brittany, Jully, Rich Yen, and Riley. The spectators? Tim, Zach, Monica, and Rich Dongses. Waaay too much ice cream for me, for sure!
So this is what it looked like (middle, right). Monica and I were quite happy with our smaller single scoops (left).
Funny how the friendly challenges turned into a girl vs. guy thing, too.
So was anyone actually able to finish in 20 minutes? Drum roll please…
Brittany did it! Congrats!
And Jully was a close 2nd. If only she had a few more minutes, she would have had it, too! Sorry Riley… I don’t think that counts…
So in the end… the girls took the gold. Alright… wait until next time, us guys are going to go into training!
